Mona Shores soccer opens district play with 4-1 win over Forest Hills Northern

The Mona Shores soccer team started postseason play on the right foot with a 4-1 win over Forest Hills Northern in a Division 1 district first round game. 

Ali Trautner opened the Sailor scoring with a goal six minutes into the game, assisted by Maya Cooper. Shay Norden scored an unassisted goal in the first half, then again off an assist from Lydia Sowles early in the second.

Lauren Hylland scored on a penalty kick late in the game to close out the scoring.

Mona Shores advances to play Grand Haven in the district semifinals Wednesday, June 1. The Sailors are 14-4-2 on the season, including 9-0-1 in OK-Green play.
