Maggie Evans scores a three-goal hat trick to lead the Whitehall girls soccer team to a 3-2 victory over Fremont in the first round of Division 2 districts on Wednesday.

Evans scored the first goal of the game, then added another late in the first half to give Whitehall a 2-1 halftime lead. Evans added her third goal midway through the second half.

Ashley TenBrink, Audrey Conners and Oliva McCarthy had assists for Whitehall, while goalie Brie Hamman made six saves.

Lili Isak scored both goals for Fremont, which finished the season with a 10-9 record.

Whitehall, now 9-7, advances to play Ludington in next Tuesday’s district semifinals.
