The Kent City baseball team cruised to a pair of wins of Wednesday night in their doubleheader against Hesperia.

The Eagles won the opener 14-2, then completed the sweep with a 14-5 victory in the nigntcap.

In Game 1, Kyler Larson paced Kent City with five hits, five RBIs and four runs scored, while Webb Longcore added four hits, three RBIs and a run scored.

Josh Anderson chipped in with three hits, two RBIs and a run for the Eagles and Ryan Darling crossed the plate three times.

Longcore pitched the win in the opener, allowing two runs on three hits in four innings tossed.

In Game 2, Tyler Brummel led the Eagles with three hits, two RBIs and a run, while Larson added three hits, five RBIs and two runs scored.

Troy Atwood crossed home plate four times and Darling added three runs scored along with one RBI.

Longcore started the nightcap and allowing four unearned runs on five hits while striking out three batters in 3 1/3 innings.

The Eagles are now 16-5 on the season and 15-3 in league play.
