The Fremont baseball team broke a 1-1 tied in the sixth inning that led to a 6-1 victory over Whitehall on Thursday night.

Michael Baden paced Fremont from the mound, tossing five innings while allowing one run on five hits and striking out five batters. Logan Nelson also pitched two innings of relief for the Packers.

Baden, Carl Vleim and Gabe Vanvleet each had multiple hits to lead the Fremont offense.

Hudsonville blanks Caledonia 12-0 on Thursday

The Hudsonville baseball team cruised to a 12-0 win over Caledonia on Thursday night in a five-inning contest.

Sophomore Breylan McPhaul tossed a complete game shutout, while striking out seven batters.

The Eagles were led by Jackson Visser with two hits, a run scored and three RBIs, while Dan Orlenas added a home run and four RBIs. Both Jayden Timmer and Sam Schafer each chipped in with two hits, two runs scored and a walk.

Hudsonville is now 16-4 on the season and 12-3 in O-K Red Conference play.

Kent City sweeps Holton in conference doubleheader

Kyler Larson struck out 16 hitters in the opener as the Eagles sweep the Red Devils by the scores of 4-2 and 15-5, respectively, on Friday night.

Larson earned the win on the mound in Game 1, going six innings pitched, allowing an earned run on four hits. He also helped his cause at the plate with a pair of hits as well.

Troy Atwood recorded two hits, while Justin Mack scratched out a hit.

In Game 2, Web Longcore led the offense with three hits and three RBIs, while Larson, Mack, Ryan Darling, Zane Kik, and Tyler Brummell finished with two hits each.

Atwood earned the win on the mound, turning in five innings pitched, allowing two earned runs on seven hits, while striking out seven hitters.

The Eagles improved to 13-4 overall and 12-2 in conference play.

Grand Haven earns an O-K Red Conference victory on Friday night

The Bucs defeated Hudsonville 5-4 in O-K Red Conference play.

Ty Sandwick and Dayton Deal led the attack at the plate for Grand Haven with a pair of hits, while Jared Tithof, Trenton Caswell, Evan DuVall, Jake Mahoney and Xavier Rodriguez picked up a hit each.

DuVall started for the Bucs, turning in five innings of work, allowing four earned runs on five hits.

Jackson Visser led the Eagles offense with a pair of hits, while Mason Dykstra, Sam Schafer and Jayden Timmer each recorded a hit.

Hart sweeps Orchard View in non-conference doubleheader

The Pirates swept by scores of 6-3 and 3-0 on Friday night in a doubleheader.

Kerry Cheron led the offense with a pair of hits, including a home run and two RBIs.

Ty Schlukebir earned the win on the mound, allowing an earned run while striking out five batters.

The Pirates defense dazzled in the second inning, turning a triple play.

In Game 2, Charron earned the win on the mound allowing no runs on two hits.

Schlukebir led the offense with a pair of hits while Brandon VanderZanden, Blake Weirich, Kory Charron, Logan Purdy and Carter Ramseyer all recorded a hit.
