Freshman pitcher Brayden Mitchelson pitched a gem on Thursday in his first varsity start, scattering seven hits and walking one to lead the Reeths-Puffer baseball team to a 1-0 victory over Mona Shores in an O-K Green conference battle.
Trent Reichert came in to record the last two outs and get the save.
Kyle Schlaff had two hits for the Rockets while Alex Johnson had a hit and scored the game’s only run on a wild pitch in the fourth inning. Reichert and Kaden Edwards also had hits for Reeths-Puffer, which gained a degree of revenge after dropping a doubleheader to the Sailors on Wednesday.
Mason Brunworth paced Mona Shores with three hits.
Mona Shores suffered its first conference loss of the season and is now 11-1 in the O-K Green.
