Weekend softball roundup: Ravenna wins howe invite with three wide margin victories

The Ravenna softball team took home a championship plaque on Saturday, winning the Ravenna Bulldogs Softball Invite.

Ravenna defeated Pickford 10-1, Benzie Central 10-0 and Shelby 15-0 on Saturday.

In the victory over Pickford, Emma Herrmans picked up the win, striking out 11 and allowing one run on one hit.

Addie Gillard had three hits for the Bulldogs while Maddie Kilbourne and Kara Postema each had two hits.

In the win over Benzie Central, Emma Gillard threw a no-hitter while Postema finished with two hits including a triple.

Against Shelby, Addie Gillard allowed just one hit while finishing with three hits of her own including a double.

LUDINGTON DROPS TWO – The Ludington softball team had a rough Saturday, losing 9-4 to Hesperia an 15-0 to Benzie Central.

In the game against Hesperia, Mya Bryant had two RBIs while Sabrina Ramirez and Maddie Enbody each added two hits.

In the game against Benzie Central, Enbody and Bryant each had one hit.

EAST KENTWOOD 16-12, MONA SHORES 9-5 – Abbie Critchett led the Sailors offense with three hits in Game 1 while Elizabeth Savacool, Macey Spaniola and Amilla Pena all had two hits.

In Game 2, Spaniola totaled two hits to pace the Sailors.
