Weekend baseball roundup: Multiple area teams have strong Saturday showings

The North Muskegon baseball team went 1-1 on Saturday, losing 8-4 to North Farmington before defeating Holland Christian 6-3.

In the loss, Sam Gallo had two hits, one RBI and one run for the Norse while Troy McManus added to hits and one run.

In the victory over Holland Christian, Gallo tossed 3 and 1/3 innings while allowing no hits and striking out two.

Gallo added two hits and two runs while John Callendo added two hits, two RBIs and one run scored.

MONTAGUE 9-10, RAVENNA 3-0 – Kade Johnson picked up the victory in game 1, allowing one run on six hits while striking out nine.

Offensively, Johnson helped his cause with two hits and two walks while Tugg Nichols had three RBIs.

In Game 2, Colton Blankstrom picked up the win, striking out five and allowing just five hits.

Tate Stine had two hits for the Wildcats while Owen Fairchild had a two RBI single.

Montague is now 6-5 overall and 6-0 in conference play.

WESTERN MICHIGAN CHRISTIAN 15-20, POTTERS HOUSE 0-2 – Caleb McKay led the Warriors with three hits including two triples in Game 1 while Sam Liggett had two hits including a three run home run.

In Game 2, Hogan Harmon and McKay each had two hits to lead the Western Michigan Christian offense.

The Warriors are now 5-1 overall on the season and remain 3-0 in conference play.

GRANDVILLE 11-2, MONA SHORES 5-1 – Aaron Piasecki had a great Game 1 with four hits while also stealing three bases and scoring three times.

In Game 2, Mason Brunworth had two hits and a walk to lead the Sailor offense.

Mona Shores falls to 10-2 overall on the season.

GRAND HAVEN 6-16, SPRING LAKE 5-4 – Ty Sandwick and Xavier Rodriguez each had two hits to lead the Buccaneers in Game 1 while Braden Rademaker added three RBIs.

In Game 2, Trenton Caswell and Sandwick each had three hits with Caswell totaling four RBIs and Sandwich three RBIs.
