Kyah McGruther scored two goals to lead the Orchard View girls soccer team to a 3-1 win over Manistee on Wednesday in a Lakes 8 matchup.

McGruther scored both of her goals in the first half and OV led 2-1 at halftime. Nazalia Mendiota scored her eighth goal of the season in the second half to give the Cardinals their winning margin.

Cassidy Noordhoek had an assist for OV. Goalie Elizabeth Estelle stopped five of six shots to collect the win.

The Cardinals are now 4-1 on the season and 1-0 in conference play. Manistee is 2-3 and 0-2.

SPRING LAKE 1, HAMILTON 0 – Meah Bajt scored the lone goal of the game in the second half, with an assist from Ella Andree.

Clara Saunders, Lauren Cavalier were credited with strong midfield play, while Ella Rabideau, Emma Nicles and Eryn Bouwhuis played strong defensively.

Goalie Jessica Stewart got the shutout for Spring Lake, which improved to 6-0.

FRUITPORT 1, GRAND RAPIDS WEST CATHOLIC 1 – West Catholic took a 1-0 lead, then Fruitport knotted up the game with a goal from Mallory Smith, who was assisted by Kayla Kolberg.

Goalie Riley Kettel had 12 saves for the Trojans, who are now 3-2-1 on the season,

BIG RAPIDS 9, FREMONT 1 – The game was tied 1-1 at halftime before the Cardinals pulled away in the second half.

Mia Clemence scored for Fremont while goalie Macey Powers had seven saves in the loss.

Fremont is now 3-3 overall and 1-1 in conference play. Big Rapids is 4-1 and 1-0.
