Nazalla Mendiola scored twice to lead the Orchard View girls soccer team to a 2-0 victory over Fremont on Thursday in non-conference action.
The first half of the game was scoreless, but Mendiola scored two minutes into the second half, then again with about nine minutes left in the game.
The Cardinals outshot Fremont 11-8. OV goalkeeper Elizabeth Estelle had eight saves. Kyah McGruther had an assist for Orchard View while Skyler Rowell was credited with solid defensive play.
Fremont goalkeeper Macey Power had nine saves.
Orchard View is now 2-1 on the season while the Packers fell to 2-2.
