Holton’s softball coach Kirk Younts earned his 200th career after a doubleheader sweep against Hesperia on Friday night.

The Red Devils won by scores of 16-1 and 4-1, respectively, to improve to 6-2 on the season and 6-0 in league play.

Ryann Robins earned the win in both games, striking out eight and surrendering only one hit in Game 1, before striking out seven batters in Game 2. Abby Fowler also struck out seven batters in relief during the nightcap.

Fowler led the offense in Game 1 as well, notching a double and three RBIs. Alanna Cregg also contribute with a double.

Gianna Reed and Fowler added doubles in Game 2, while Kenzie Greene, Robins, Goyings, Cregg and Bartolameolli all had hits as well.

Reeths-Puffer struggles in doubleheader against Jenison

 The Rockets dropped both of their contests against Jenison by 13-3 and 9-0, respectively.

Caitlynn Duffey posted seven strikeouts in Game 1, while Mady Snyder had six during the nightcap.

Duffey had two doubles to lead the Rocket attack, while Megan Barmes and Kaylee Jones each had a single.
