The Muskegon Heights boys basketball team, which only played a few games last season due to COVID concerns, downed Muskegon Catholic Central 44-26 on Wednesday in the Division 4 district semifinals at Fruitport Calvary Christian High School.

The Tigers led 12-5 after the first quarter, 22-13 going into halftime, and 28-19 at the end of the third.

William Davis led Muskegon Heights with 13 points and 12 rebounds, Ja’Kari Edwards added 10 points and Jonathon Moore contributed nine points and seven boards.

Muskegon Heights, now 12-6 on the season, will play Fruitport Calvary Christian in Friday’s district championship game on Calvary’s home court.

Jaden Johnson led the Crusaders with eight points and 10 rebounds. Tramel Caviness added six points and Chase Willer scored five.

Muskegon Catholic Central finish its season with a 6-14 record.
