The Spring Lake girls soccer team opened its season with a 4-0 non-conference victory over Western Michigan Christian on Monday.
Meah Bajt led the way for the Lakers with a three-goal hat trick, whole Clara Saunders scored the other goal. Assists went to Saunders, Ella Andree, Amily Anderson and Lauren Nicles.
Goalkeepers Brooke Bolthouse and Caroline Henry combined for the shutout for Spring Lake.
Bri Zuidema, Nadia Burr and Maria Eenigenburg were credited with playing strong defense for the Warriors (0-2). Goalie Libby Mast also turned in a strong performance.
