The Mason County Central boys basketball ended its season with a close 37-35 loss to McBain in a Division 3 district final game Friday night. McBain scored a layup with less than five seconds left following an MCC turnover to claim the win.
The Spartans led 13-11 after the first quarter, but McBain used a 12-4 edge in the second to lead 23-17 at halftime. Mason County Central pulled within 27-26 heading to the final frame.
Will Chye led the Spartans with 14 points and five rebounds, while Kolden Myer had eight points and eight boards.
Mason County Central finishes the season with a 7-15 record.
