The Ludington girls basketball team is now heading to East Lansing and is one win away from play for a state championship.

The Orioles advanced to the state semifinals after beating Frankenmuth 30-26 on Tuesday in a state quarterfinal contest at Cadillac High School.

Ludington will face Detroit Edison on Friday night at 7:30 p.m. from the Breslin Center in East Lansing looking for a shot to play for a state championship on Saturday.

The game was tight throughout as both teams scored six points in the first quarter and eight in the second to force a 14-14 tie at halftime.

The Orioles allowed the lone point of the third quarter and trailed 15-14 heading into the fourth but closed out the game strong with a 16-11 run.

RyAnn Rohrer paced Ludington with 12 points, while Keelyn Laird added eight and Olivia Lynn scored six.
