The Kent City girls basketball team won its fifth straight Division 3 district title on Friday with a 36-33 victory over conference rival and host Morley Stanwood.

Madelyn Geers led the Eagles on the night with 14 points, six rebounds and four blocks while Taryn Preston added 10 points and five rebounds.

Lexie Bowers finished with seven points and four steals.

With the victory, Kent City improves to 22-0 on the season and will next travel to the Division 3 regional semifinals at Grand Rapids NorthPointe Christian. The Eagles will face Western Michigan Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
