Luke Sanford’s 16 points helped the Coopersville boys basketball team earn a 46-42 come-from-behind victory over Grand Rapids Union in Division 1 district quarterfinal action on Monday night.
Union jumped out to a 12-11 lead after the first quarter, but the Broncos led 29-24 at halftime. Union seized the momentum in the third quarter, taking a 37-32 lead into the final quarter before the Broncos stole the victory with a 14-5 edge down the stretch.
Mark DeVries played a big part in the victory for the Broncos, scoring 14 points, while Travis Rosel chipped in with 11.
The Broncos move on to play Grand Haven at Muskegon High School on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m.
