The Whitehall boys basketball team needed overtime to win a non-league game against Ludington on Wednesday night.

The Vikings snuck past Ludington by a 57-54 margin.

Whitehall trailed 15-11 after the opening quarter and 29-22 at halftime. The Vikings then went on a 16-7 third quarter run to take a 38-36 advantage heading into the fourth.

The Orioles responded with a 12-10 fourth quarter run to force overtime before Whitehall closed out the contest, outscoring its opponent 9-6 in the extra period.

Isaac DeHart paced the Vikings with 13 points while Brodie Fogus added 11 points and eight rebounds. Camden Thompson chipped in with 10 points and eight rebounds.

The Orioles were led by David Shillinger with a game-high 18 points while Peyton LaCombe scored nine.

MONTABELLA 64, KENT CITY 57 – The Eagles dropped a non-league game in overtime on Wednesday night.

Kent City led 22-10 after the first quarter, 35-22 at halftime and 44-40 through three quarters. The Eagles were outscored 11-7 during the fourth quarter forcing a 51-51 tie heading into overtime.

Montabella outscored the Eagles by a 13-6 margin during the extra session.

Kyler Larson led Kent City with 14 points, while Jaret Jaramillo scored 13 and Carter Magoon had 12.

The Eagles are now 12-5 overall on the season.

SHELBY 40, ORCHARD VIEW 19 – The Tigers won a non-league game over OV on Wednesday night.

Joseph Hayes and Bishop Lee scored 27 and 23 points, respectively, to lead Shelby offensively.

The Cardinals were paced by Darius Williams with 27 points, eight rebounds, six assists and four steals.

PENTWATER 49, MANISTEE CATHOLIC 34 – The Falcons led 12-3 after the first quarter, 27-18 at halftime and 43-25 through three quarters.

Freshman Jonny Arnouts led Pentwater with 17 points, while Tyler Plummer added 13 and Will Werkema Grondsma scored 12.

The Falcons are now 6-9 on the season and 6-7 in league play.

FREMONT 76, CHIPPEWA HILLS 41 – The Packers improved to 13-6 on the season and 11-2 in league play on Wednesday night.

Jordon McDonald led Fremont with 23 points and eight rebounds while Logan Nelson added 12 points and four assists. Chaz Miller chipped in with 13 points, four steals and three assists.

The Packers led 16-12 after the first quarter, 33-19 at halftime and 58-32 through three quarters.
