The Spring Lake boys basketball team fell 44-42 in a heartbreaking loss to Coopersville on Tuesday night.
Kaden George led the Lakers with 21 points, followed by Porter Saunders with 10 points and Jackson Core with seven assists.
Spring Lake held a 13-10 lead after the first quarter and led 19-13 going into halftime.
The Broncos took the lead in the third quarter, leading 25-24 headed into the final quarter.
Coopersville is now 10-5 on the season and 7-4 in O-K Blue Conference play while Spring Lake falls to 7-9 overall and 4-7 in conference play.
WEST MICHIGAN CONFERENCE
WHITEHALL 65, HART 35 – Whitehall used a 19-2 first quarter advantage and never looked back in a conference victory. Camden Thompson paced the Vikings (11-4, 9-2) with 18 points and 11 rebounds while Kal Koehler added 10 points and six rebounds.
OAKRIDGE 65, RAVENNA 41 – A strong first half gave Oakridge a 34-15 lead which helped the Eagles coast to victory. Garrett Weaver paced Oakridge (9-8, 5-6) with 25 points and eight rebounds while Ethan Jozsa added 23 points and 10 rebounds. Ravenna (10-5, 8-3) was led by Grant Becklin with 15 points.
SHELBY 54, MASON COUNTY CENTRAL 44 – Shelby overcame a 11-4 deficit after the first quarter on Tuesday night.
Joseph Hayes led the Tigers (10-5, 7-4) with 27 points on the night Bishop Lee added 11 points.
O-K RED CONFERENCE
CALEDONIA 54, HUDSONVILLE 48 – Mason Dykstra led the Eagles with 20 points and seven rebounds, followed by Brayden Szamrej with 10 points and six rebounds.
Caledonia led 14-12 after the first quarter, but Hudsonville took a 23-22 lead going into halftime.
The Scots regained the lead in the third quarter, closing it with a 35-33 lead.
The Eagles fall to 6-10 for the season, with a 4-7 record in the O-K Red Conference.
GRAND HAVEN 54, ROCKFORD 51 – Harrison Sorrell scored an incredible 28 points against Rockford to lead the Buccaneers to victory. Bashir Neely scored 15 points on the night.
The Grand Haven boys are now 15-1 for the season, while Rockford falls to 15-2. Both teams have a conference record of 10-1, tying them for first in the O-K Red conference.
ALLIANCE LEAUGE
POTTER’S HOUSE 71, FRUITPORT CALVARY CHRISTIAN 50 –The Eagles were led by Jacob May with 14 points, Bradley Richard scoring 12 and Ethan Cammenga adding 10.
Fruitport Calvary Christian falls to 11-5 overall and 4-3 in conference play.
