The Reeths-Puffer girls basketball team had an easy time defeating Coopersville 59-28 on Monday in the first round of the Division 1 district tournament.

The Rockets led 17-8 after one quarter and 26-14 at halftime, then took control with a big 24-4 advantage in the third quarter.

Sophomore Brooklynn Tornes led the Rockets with 18 points, Sophia Hekkema added 16 and Ariel Walker scored 14.

Maddi Miller paced Coopersville with nine points.

The Rockets, now 15-5 on the season, will host Kenowa Hills in the district semifinals on Wednesday.

Coopersville finished the season with a 3-18 record.
