The Reeths-Puffer boys basketball team used a strong second half to pick up a conference win against Zeeland West Friday night.
Despite trailing by five at the halftime break, the Rockets controlled the second half to come away with a 56-48 win.
Reeths-Puffer led 17-15 after one quarter, but the Dux used a 15-8 edge in the second to take a 30-25 halftime lead. The Rockets pulled within 40-39 after three quarters before pulling ahead with a 17-8 advantage in the fourth.
Jaxson Whitaker led R-P with 18 points in addition to five rebounds and four assists. Travis Ambrose totaled 12 points and nine rebounds for the Rockets, while Kyle Schlaff had eight points and five rebounds.
With the win, Reeths-Puffer improves to 10-5 overall this season and 7-3 in the OK Green, which is good for second place behind Muskegon.
OK GREEN
MONA SHORES 41, ZEELAND EAST 38 — The Sailors used a strong fourth quarter to pull off a come-from-behind win on the road Friday night.
Mona Shores trailed 9-7 after the first quarter before taking a 17-16 lead at halftime. The Chix controlled the third quarter, taking a 33-28 lead to the final frame. Mona Shores used a 13-5 advantage in the fourth to come away with the win.
Keontae Richards led the Sailors with 10 points, six steals and five assists. Donovan Russell had a team-high 11 points, while Parker Swartz scored nine and grabbed seven rebounds.

OK BLUE
COOPERSVILLE 58, FRUITPORT 48 — The Broncos came out on top of the Trojans in OK Blue action Friday night, erasing an early deficit to secure the win at home.
Fruitport led 14-8 after the first quarter, but Coopersville battled back to tie the game at 21-21 heading to halftime. Both offenses got rolling in the third, with the Broncos taking a 41-37 lead at the end of the frame.
Isaiah Currie led the Broncos with 18 points while Luke Sanford contributed 15.
Bode Anspach led Fruitport with a game-high 22 points. Ryan Laus added eight for the Trojans.
Coopersville improves to 9-5 overall, and 6-4 in the OK Blue. Fruitport falls to 5-10 overall, and 1-9 in conference play.
HOLLAND CHRISTIAN 59, SPRING LAKE 48 — The Lakers pulled even early in the fourth, but a late run and good free throw shooting allowed the Maroons to close out the win in OK Blue action.
Holland Christian led most of the game, holding a 17-11 lead after one and a 26-22 lead at halftime. Spring Lake drew within 40-37 after three quarters and pulled even at 40-40 early in the fourth before Holland Christian hit 15-of-19 free throws down the stretch.
Leading the Lakers were Zach Schlepp and Kaden George, who both had 11 points on the night. Porter Saunders added 10 points for the Lakers and Eli Morrison had eight.
Spring Lake falls to 7-8 on the season and 4-6 in conference play.
OK RED
ROCKFORD 67, HUDSONVILLE 48 — The Eagles couldn’t hang on after a strong start, falling in OK Red action to Rockford Friday night.
Hudsonville held an 18-15 lead after one quarter, but Rockford came back to take a 33-25 lead at halftime. The Eagles cut the lead to 46-40 entering the fourth, but the Rams pulled away in the final frame to secure the win.
Mason Dykstra led the Eagles with 18 points on the night. Also in double figures were Eli VanderVeen and Brayden Szamrej, who both had 10.
Hudsonville falls to 6-9 overall this season, including 4-6 in conference play.
