The Shelby boys basketball overcame a slow start and defeated Holton 43-40 on Monday in a non-league contest.

The Tigers trailed 12-4 after the first quarter and 21-20 at halftime and 30-27 through three quarters.

Shelby closed out the contest with a 16-10 run to complete the victory.

Bishop Lee led the Tigers with 17 points while Joseph Hayes added 16. Wyatt Dickman pulled down 10 rebounds and Lee had grabbed nine boards under the basket.

The Red Devils were led by Wyatt Monette with 17 points, five rebounds and three blocks.

Austin Fowler and Carter Brant scored 11 and seven points for Holton, respectively, and Bret Hosmer had seven steals.

HART 60, HESPERIA 50 – The Pirates won a non-league contest on Monday night as Diego Escamilla scored a team-high 21 points.

Hart led 17-11 after the first quarter, 31-24 at halftime and 44-43 through three quarters.

The Pirates closed out the contest strong by going on a 16-7 fourth quarter run.

Kory Charron chipped in with 10 points for Hart.

The Panthers were led by Maddox Mosley with a game-high 24 points while Maverick McKinnon scored 12.

Hesperia falls to 1-12 on the season and is 0-7 in league play.

WHITE CLOUD 57, PENTWATER 36 – The Falcons fell short in a non-league contest on Monday night.

Pentwater trailed 18-10 after the opening quarter, 28-18 at halftime and 43-26 heading into the final stanza.

Tyler Plummer scored 11 points to lead the Falcons while Will Werekema-Grondsma added nine and Drew Kolenda had six. Campbell Miller pulled down six rebounds.
