Mona Shores hockey team wraps up incredible regular season with a 7-1 victory over Sault Ste. Marie

The Mona Shores hockey team wrapped up a great regular season with a convincing 7-1 victory over Sault Ste. Marie on Saturday at Lakeshore Sports Centre.

Jack Nanna had a big night for the Sailors with two goals and three assists. Also scoring for Mona Shores were Trent Benedict, Jack Reelman, Landon Taylor, Ty Langlois, and Ethan Ring.

Noah Lepzinski picked up three assists, Ty Langlois added two, and Benedict, Nathan McNarland, Luke Beilhartz and Brooks Robinson all added 1.

Keldon Boone made 22 saves in goal for the Sailors.

Mona Shores, now 21-4 on the season, will play in the regional semifinals of the state tournament on Saturday at Lakeshore at 6:30 p.m. The Sailors will play the winner of Wednesday’s Reeths-Puffer-Manistee game.
