The Mona Shores girls basketball team pulled one win away from at least a share of a conference championship by beating Holland 59-30 on Tuesday in an O-K Black matchup.
The Sailors and Reeths-Puffer are now tied for the O-K Black conference heading into the final games on Friday. Mona Shores will visit Wyoming while Reeths-Puffer will host Grand Rapids Union. If both teams win they will share the title. If one wins and the other loses, there could still be a sole champion.
The Sailors jumped out to a 20-4 advantage after the first quarter and led 27-10 at halftime. They extended the lead to 43-22 at the start of the fourth.
Olivia Sobczak paced Mona Shores with 18 points. Lily Miller finished the contest with 10 points, while Jenna Tierman chipped in with eight.
The Sailors improved to 16-3 overall and 11-2 in conference play.
