The Hart wrestling team beat Orchard View and Comstock Park to capture a Division 3 regional championship on Wednesday at Kent City High School.
The Pirates defeated OV 66-9 in the semifinals, then went on to beat Comstock Park 44-27 in the finals.
The regional victory was the third in three seasons for Hart. The Pirates will wrestle Alma on Friday, Feb. 25 in Kalamazoo in the state quarterfinals, with a chance to advance to the semifinals the next day.
Winning matches for the Pirates were Trayce Tate, Ty Thomas, Nicolas Sandy, Mason Cantu, Zane Thomas, Leo Guadarrama, Ivan Lara, Jose Chavira, Uriel Vilches-Mendoza, Guillermo Ortega, Alex Hicks and Jon Ponce.
