The Spring Lake girls basketball team stole a 36-33 victory over Hudsonville Unity Christian in a tight O-K Blue conference matchup on Friday.

Spring Lake led 5-4 in the early minutes, but then trailed for most of the game until Jennifer Judge hit a 3-pointer to tie the game at 27-27.  Unity Christian recaptured the lead and pushed it to five points with about four minutes left in the fourth quarter, but late buckets pushed the Lakers over the top.

Judge led Spring Lake with 14 points and eight rebounds. Ella Andree added 13 polnts and five steals.

Spring Lake moves to 12-6 overall and 8-4 in the O-K Blue.

O-K RED

EAST KENTWOOD 62, GRAND HAVEN 51 – East Kentwood gained the winning edge by outscoring Grand Haven 18-10 in the second quarter.

Zoe Spoelman led Grand Haven with 19 points and eight rebounds. Caydee Constant added nine points and Abbey Klumpel dished out four assists.

The Buccaneers fell to 8-10 overall and 4-8 in conference play.

LAKES 8

LUDINGTON 56, MUSKEGON CATHOLIC CENTRAL 37 – Ludington jumped out to a quick 21-8 lead after one quarter and had a big 40-17 advantage at halftime. After that point the Orioles let off the gas a little, leading 49-26 after three quarters.

Keelyn Laird paced the Orioles with 17 points while RyAnn Rohrer added 14.

Leading the Crusaders was McKenna Gentry with eight points while Sara Albanese and Grace Staniforth each had seven.

O-K GREEN

REETHS PUFFER 61, HOLLAND 39 – The Rockets controlled the pace of the game the entire way, but really broke out in the third quarter.

After dropping 13 points in the first quarter and 10 in the second, a massive 23-point third quarter blew the game open for Reeths-Puffer.

Sophia Hekkema led the Rockets with 16 points and 12 assists. Arrionna Williams scored16 points while Ariel Walker had 13.

TRI COUNTY 48, FREMONT 38 – The Vikings took advantage of a massive fourth quarter to flip a game that the Packers had controlled all night.

Fremont led 11-4 after one quarter, 18-17 at halftime and 29-28 after three quarters, then the Vikings took control with a 20-9 advantage in the fourth.

Mia Witte and Haley Zerlaut led Fremont with 10 points apiece. Zerlaut also added six assists and six steals.
