Tuesday girls hoops roundup: Fremont wins second game of the season, sneaks past Chippewa Hills

The Fremont girls basketball squad defeat Chippewa Hills 45-41 in CSAA Gold conference action on Tuesday night.

The Packers led 10-6 after the first quarter and 28-16 at halftime.

The Chippewas cut into the lead, outscoring the Packers 12-7 in the third to make the score 35-28 heading into the fourth quarter.

Haley Zerlaut paced the Packers with 13 points, while Lily VandenBerg chipped in with 12.

Fremont improved to 2-9 overall and 2-4 in conference play.

O-K BLUE CONFERENCE

SPRING LAKE 38, COOPERSVILLE 21 – The Lakers were led by Jennifer Judge with 13 points and six rebounds while Meah Bajt added 12 points, five rebounds and three steals.

Ella Andree contributed with eight points and four rebounds for Spring Lake and Eryn Bouwhuis pulled down six rebounds.

 

The Broncos were paced by Maddie Miller with nine points.

 

The Lakers are now 6-3 on the season and 3-1 in league play, while Coopersville is 3-6 overall and 1-3 in conference action.

 

 

 

O-K GREEN CONFERENCE

MONA SHORES 57, REETHS PUFFER 36-The Sailors jumped out to a 12-10 lead after the first quarter of play, before extending the lead to 27-16 at halftime.

Mona Shores outscored the Rockets 17-4 in the third quarter to increase the advantage to 44-20 at the start of the fourth quarter.

paced the Sailors with 18 points while Ali Philips chipped in with 13 and Mia Brown added nine.

The Rockets were led by Sophia Hekkema with 16 points.

 

 

 

 

 

NON-LEAGUE

HART 55, WHITE CLOUD 20-The Pirates outscored White Cloud 15-0 in the first quarter and never looked back in a non-league contest.

Hart led 34-7 at halftime and 42-11 after three quarters of play.

Addi Hovey recorded a double-double for the Pirates scoring 19 points and collecting 10 steals.

Mariana VanAgtmael chipped in with 13 points, while Aspen Boutell scored 10. Morgan Marvin had a solid night, collecting 11 rebounds and dishing out five assists.

 

 

 

 

 

POTTER’S HOUSE 37, OAKRIDGE 35- The Eagles fell behind 8-7 after the first quarter of play, then led 19-18 at halftime.

Both teams battled to a 28-28 tie after three quarters of play before Potter’s House closed out the game outscoring the Eagles by a 9-7 margin during the fourth.

Anna Lundquist led the Eagles with 16 points and nine rebounds, while Lily Blackburn finished the evening with six points and five rebounds.

The Eagles are now 2-7 overall and 1-4 in West Michigan Conference play.

FRUITPORT CALVARY 67, ORCHARD VIEW 25- McKenna Wilson recorded a double-double to lead the Eagles to a non-league win on Tuesday.

The Eagles jumped out to a 14-5 lead after one quarter, led 27-7 at halftime, and 45-19 lead after three quarters of play.

Wilson paced the Eagles with 21 points, 10 steals, eight rebounds, and six steals. Ava Wilson chipped in with 19 points, while Cate Anhalt finished the evening with 11 points.

Fruitport Calvary is now 5-1 on the season and 1-0 in conference play.

 

 

 

 

 

WESTERN MICHIGAN CHRISTIAN 58, WHITEHALL 35-The Warriors jumped out to a 21-5 lead after the first quarter and led 32-13 at halftime.

WMC maintained the lead in the third, taking a 46-25 advantage into the fourth quarter.

The Vikings were led by Charlie Klint, with nine points, while Hailey Carnes recorded seven.

Whitehall is now 3-8 overall and 2-4 in conference play.

RAVENNA 47, MUSKEGON CATHOLIC CENTRAL 34- The Bulldogs jumped out to a 23-9 lead after the first quarter and led 35-19 at halftime.

Ravenna carried the momentum through the third quarter, taking a 46-26 lead into the fourth quarter.

The Crusaders were led by Sara Albanese with nine points, while Katherine Rauch finished with seven.

MCC falls to 3-4 overall and 2-1 in conference play.

O-K RED CONFERENCE

ROCKFORD 62, GRAND HAVEN 38- The Bucs drop an O-K Red Conference matchup to Rockford on Tuesday night.

Grand Haven fell behind 17-12 after the first quarter and trailed 32-16 at halftime.

 

The Bucs were unable to cut into the lead in the third quarter and trailed 45-28 at the start of the fourth quarter.

Alyssa Hatzel led the Bucs with 17 points, while Molly Long finished the contest with 10.

The Bucs are now 5-4 overall and 1-3 in conference play.
