Reeths-Puffer’s girls basketball team won a tight battle with Zeeland West Friday night to remain unbeaten in O-K Green conference play. The Rockets won 41-36 to move to 3-0 in league action.
Ariel Walker led RP with 17 points and five steals. Sophia Hekkema and Arrionna Williams both added nine points in the win. Hekkema also grabbed eight rebounds.
Reeths-Puffer held slim leads at the end of each quarter. The Rockets were up 9-6 after one, 20-16 at halftime and 29-23 at the end of the third.
Reeths-Puffer is now 5-2 overall this season.
O-K GREEN
MONA SHORES 66, ZEELAND EAST 26 — Olivia Sobczak led the Sailors with 14 points, followed by Khaleeya Cook and Lauren Hylland each with nine points, and Ali Phillips and Lily Miller each scoring eight.
Mona Shores led 11-7 in the first quarter, 28-13 going into halftime, and 48-21 at the end of the third quarter.
The Sailors are now 8-1 overall, with a conference record of 3-0.
O-K BLUE
HOLLAND CHRISTIAN 44, SPRING LAKE 24 — A slow start and lopsided fourth quarter doomed the Lakers in an O-K Blue game. Spring Lake trailed 7-0 after the first quarter and 17-5 at halftime.
The Lakers drew within 24-15 after three, but the Maroons used a 20-9 fourth-quarter edge to pull away. Spring Lake is now 5-3 on the season and 2-1 in conference play.
Meah Bajt and Ella Andree scored five points each for Spring Lake.
CSAA
TRI COUNTY 50, FREMONT 47 — The Packers fell short despite a huge scoring effort from Haley Zerlaut, who scored 27 points in the loss. She also grabbed six rebounds.
Khaila Noordyk totaled eight points and 11 rebounds and Kaitlynn Bennett scored seven more points.
Tri County took a 17-12 lead in the first quarter, led 28-24 going into halftime, and closed the third quarter with a 41-34 lead. The Packers had a 13-9 edge in the fourth quarter, but couldn’t complete a comeback.
Fremont is now 1-8 for the season, with a 1-4 record in CSAA Gold play.
MORLEY STANWOOD 55, HESPERIA 12 — The Panthers started slow and never recovered in a loss Friday night. Morley Stanwood led 23-2 after one quarter, 38-6 at halftime and 48-6 after three quarters.
Emmet Tinkham led Hesperia with six points while Abby Joppich added four. The Panthers are now 0-5 on the season and 0-4 in the CSAA Silver.
LAKES 8
LUDINGTON 53, MUSKEGON CATHOLIC CENTRAL 17 — The Orioles led 15-2 after the first quarter, 28-5 at halftime, and 42-13 at the end of the third quarter.
Ludington is now 6-4 for the season, with a 3-1 record in conference play. The Crusaders are now 3-3 overall and 2-1 in Lakes 8 action.
WEST MICHIGAN D LEAGUE
MESICK 59, PENTWATER 35 — The Falcons dropped to 1-5 on the season with the loss. Mesick led 15-7 after the first quarter, 30-17 at halftime and 51-31 after three quarters.
Jocelyn Richison and Haidyn Adams scored eight points each to lead Pentwater. Richison added three assists and three steals, while Adams had four rebounds. Mikaylyn Kenney scored six points and led the team with nine rebounds.
