The North Muskegon boys basketball team cruised to a 44-29 non-league win over Western Michigan Christian on Tuesday night.
The Norse jumped out to a 15-3 lead after the opening quarter, led 30-14 at halftime and had a 38-22 advantage heading into the fourth stanza.
Brandon Rypstra paced North Muskegon with 13 points, while Troy McManus added 11 points, eight rebounds and four assists. James Young chipped in with eight points.
The Warriors were led by Jared Olsen with 13 points, Sam Liggett with nine and Joe Waller, who had six to go along with 10 rebounds.
COOPERSVILLE 59, Zeeland West 56 – The Broncos overcame a rough start to improve to 3-0 on the season.
Coopersville trailed 22-8 after the first quarter before going on an 18-0 run in the second quarter to take a 33-32 lead at halftime.
The Broncos closed out the contest outscoring Zeeland West 15-12 during the fourth quarter to break a 44-44 deadlock after the third quarter.
Luke Sanford and Travis Rosel led Coopersville with 14 points each, while Isaiah Currie and Mark DeVries added 11 each.
UNITY CHRISTIAN 78, HUDSONVILLE 44 – The Eagles trailed 16-9 after the first quarter, 34-24 at halftime and 60-37 through three quarters.
Nate Clark led Hudsonville with 16 points.
