The Mona Shores boys basketball team defeated Cedar Springs 64-48 in a non-conference matchup on Friday.
The Sailors secured the win with a big first half, outscoring the Red Hawks 21-12 in the first quarter and 18-11 in the second.
Mona Shores had a 37-28 advantage in rebounding.
Junior Parker Swartz led the way for the Sailors with 20 points, which included four-three pointers. Senior Ethan Krueger also had a strong game with 13 points while Jayden Smith and Donovan Russell each pulled down seven rebounds.

KENT CITY 67, LAKEVIEW 42 – The Eagles led 28-21 at halftime, then took control of the game with a 27-9 advantage in the third quarter.
Hayden Carlson tossed in 21 points for Kent City, including five triples in the big third quarter. Kyler Larson added 15 points for the Eagles.
BIG RAPIDS 62, FREMONT 60 (OT) – Fremont’s Blake Hanshue hit a triple with three seconds left in regulation to force overtime, then the Packers took a four-point lead in the extra period before coming up short.
Jordan McDonald, who fouled out in overtime, led the Packers with 23 points and three steals. Gavin Richards contributed six points and eight rebounds.
