The Mona Shores boys basketball team used a strong second half to defeat a good Tri-Unity Christian squad 65-54 on Monday at the Cornerstone University holiday Tournament in Grand Rapids.

The Sailors trailed 6-5 after a slow first quarter and 25-23 at halftime, then took control with a 23-19 advantage in the third quarter and a 19-10 edge in the fourth.

Parker Swartz led the way for the Sailors with 24 points, including five 3-pointers. Keontae Richards added 23 points, including three triples.

Mona Shores is now 2-2 on the season and will play in the tournament championship game on Wednesday.
