The Ravenna boys basketball held on to its lead, defeating Hart by a slim 59-58 margin on Thursday in West Michigan Conference play.
Grant Becklin nailed the game-winning two-point basket with three seconds to go. Hart tried to beat the buzzer but failed to get the shot off.
The Bulldogs led 17-11 after the first quarter, 34-22 at halftime and 46-39 going into the final quarter. The Pirates went on a 19-13 fourth quarter tear but fell just short of completing a comeback.
Travis May led Ravenna with 17 points, while Kyle Beebe added 16 points and 11 rebounds. Becklin chipped in with 15 points and 10 rebounds.
The Pirates were paced by Parker Hovey with 22 points and seven rebounds while Kohen Parker scored 12 points.
