The Fruitport Calvary girls basketball team needed overtime to overcome a first half deficit and defeat Fruitport 52-47 on Friday night.

The Eagles trailed 12-5 after the first quarter and 18-12 at halftime.

Fruitport Calvary went on a 19-4 run during the third quarter to take a 31-22 advantage heading into the fourth.

The contest was tied 41-41 at the end of regulation, forcing an overtime period.

The Eagles outscored Fruitport by an 11-6 margin during the extra quarter.

McKena Wilson paced Fruitport Calvary with 17 points, six rebounds and three steals, while Avneet Cheema added 13 points, 15 rebounds and four assists.

The Eagles also had great contributions from Reagan Payton, who scored 11 points and pulled down six rebounds. Cate Anhalt chipped in with seven points and five rebounds.

The Trojans were led by Cate Anhalt and Aurbre Johnson with 13 and 12 points, respectively.

Fruitport Calvary is now 1-1 overall on the season.
