Three players scored in double figures to lead the Reeths-Puffer girls basketball team to a 48-24 victory over Ludington on Tuesday in non-league action.
The Rockets opened up an 11-4 advantage after one quarter and led 23-8 at halftime and 38-14 after three quarters.
Arionna Williams and Sophia Hekkema each scored 15 points for the Rockets while Ariel Walker added 12. Hekkema added seven rebounds and eight steals while Williams had five steals and three assists.
Olivia Lynn and RyAnn Rohrer paced Ludington with eight and seven points, respectively, while Emma McKinley snagged six rebounds.
NORTH MUSKEGON 40, MUSKEGON CATHOLIC 27 – The Norse led 13-7 after one quarter, 21-12 at halftime and 31-16 headed into the fourth.
Jena Francis had 14 points, including four triples, for North Muskegon. Josee Cooke added 10 points and six rebounds for the Norse (1-1).
Grace Staniforth led Muskegon Catholic with 10 points while Claire LaVigne added nine. The Crusaders, 0-2, will host Manistee on Friday in a Lakes 8 conference game.
TRI-UNITY CHRISTIAN 47, ORCHARD VIEW 33 – Tri-Unity took control with a 12-4 edge in the first quarter. The Cardinals were only outscored 11-10 in the second quarter, but then only managed to score nine points in the second half.
Hikari Katsuzawa led Orchard View with 11 points while Liz Estelle added 10 points and eight rebounds.
OAKRIDGE 47, FRUITPORT 25 – Anna Lundquist led the Eagles with a double-double, totaling 14 points, 10 rebounds and three steals. Jasmine Pastor followed with another 14 points, as well as two steals.
The Oakridge girls took a 14-5 lead after the first quarter, led 26-10 going into halftime, and closed the third quarter leading 39-17.
Sadie Norwood led the Trojans with 10 points and four steals and Sabi Meil added 8 points.
The Eagles improved to 1-2 for the season. Fruitport is now 0-2.
SHELBY 53, FREMONT 41 – Kendall Zoulek led the Tigers with 17 points, followed closely by Molli Schultz and Ella Olmstead with 13 each.
The Shelby girls took a 14-4 lead after one quarter and led 32-14 going into halftime.
Haley Zerlaut led the Packers with 21 points and four steals, followed by Mia White with eight points and eight rebounds, Kaitlynn Bennett with 12 rebounds and four steals, and Jessica Bennett with six points and nine rebounds.
Shelby improved to 2-1 while Fremont is now 0-2.
TRI-COUNTY 52, HOLTON 34 – Ryann Robins led Holton with a double-double, totaling 12 points and 15 rebounds. Courtney Boes added 10 points and Abbie Fowler had six assists for the Red Devils.
May Shepard led the Tri-County girls with 13 points.
KENOWA HILLS 26, POTTER’S HOUSE 21 – Adrianna Marsiglia led the Knights with 12 points. Nadia McCliskey snagged 11 rebounds for Kenowa Hills, Payton Thayer added 10 and Ella Thayer grabbed eight.
Kenowa Hills, now 2-1 for the season, will play Greenville next Tuesday.
NEWAYGO 50, WHITEHALL 25 – Marissa Strandberg, McKena Coron and Charley Klint each had five points for Whitehall, which fell to 1-2 on the season. Jaxi Long had 24 points for Newaygo, including six triples.
