Ella Andree hit the game-winning layup with 12 seconds remaining, giving the Spring Lake girls basketball team a thrilling 42-41 victory over Montague on Tuesday in non-conference action.
Spring Lake led 9-4 after one quarter, but Montague stole the lead and had a 35-25 advantage heading into the fourth quarter.
The Lakers trailed by 12 points with 6:30 left in the game, then finished with a 17-4 run to grab the win. Andree’s layup put Spring Lake up for good, then Brooke Bolthouse blocked a Montague shot with three seconds left to seal things up.
Jennifer Judge and Bolthouse each had 11 points for Spring Lake while Andree added 10 points. Meah Bajt had six rebounds, three assists and four steals.
Maddie Meacham and Emma Dyer had 13 and eight points, respectively, for Montague.
The Lakers and Wildcats are both 2-1 on the season.
