Freshman Bradley Richards poured in 27 points and grabbed 17 rebounds to lead the Fruitport Calvary Christian boys basketball team to a season-opening 77-35 victory over Pentwater on Monday.

The Eagles only led 22-19 after one quarter, due to a hot start by Pentwater’s Tyler Plummer, who scored 16 points in the opening frame.

Fruitport Calvary took control with a 22-7 edge in the second quarter.

Jacob May added 13 points and 10 assists for the Eagles while Ethan Cammenga had eight points and eight boards. Plummer finished with 22 points for Pentwater.

Fruitport Calvary will travel to Scottville to play Mason County Central on Tuesday night.
