The Whitehall volleyball team won its second consecutive district championship with a 3-0 victory over Fruitport on Thursday in the Division 2 finals at Spring Lake High School.

The Vikings won the first set 25-12, battled for a 27-25 win in the long second set, then rounded out the sweep with a 25-14 win in the third.

Whitehall standing Rayne Thompson had another great match, leading the team with 30 kills while Charlie Klint added nine kills while serving three aces. Maggie Evans had 41 assists.

Defensively, Ryleigh Mott had 20 digs and Sidney Shepherd had three blocks.

Kylie Rudoph paced Fruitport with six kills, Raegan Dykstra had 16 assists, Hope Straley blocked four shots and Anna Bol had 11 digs.

Fruitport finished the season with a 24-20 record.

Whitehall, now 33-6-1, will face Grand Rapids Christian at 5 p.m. on Tuesday at Orchard View High School in the regional semifinals.
