The Whitehall football season came to an end with a 24-14 loss at Cadillac in a Division 4 district final Friday night.
With the loss, Whitehall wraps the season up with a 8-3 record overall, which included a share of the West Michigan Conference title.
The Vikings fell behind early when a 33-yard field goal by Caden Windover gave Cadillac a 3-0 lead with 8:21 remaining in the first quarter.
Neither team scored until Cadillac extended the lead to 10-0 with 9:21 left in the second quarter on a Kalbe McKinley three-yard touchdown run.
Following a successful onside kick, quarterback Aden Gurden found Derek Rood for a four-yard touchdown to give Cadillac a 17-0 lead with 6:57 left in the second.
Alec Pruett scored on a four-yard touchdown run with 42 seconds left in the first half to make the halftime score 17-7.
The lone score of the third quarter was a five-yard touchdown run by Nate Bolley to cut the Whitehall deficit to 17-14 with 7:41 left in the third quarter.
With 4:20 remaining in the game, a McKinley touchdown run for Cadillac iced the game away and made the score 24-14.
Kyle Stratton led Whitehall with 95 rushing yards. He was also 8-for-15 passing for 87 yards. Pruett totaled 62 yards on the ground. Bolley had 53 rushing yards to go with 38 receiving yards on five catches. Red Watson caught two balls for 41 yards.
Nick Blanchard led the defense with eight tackles, followed by Max Brown with 7.5 and Jackson Cook with seven.
