KEY RETURNERS
Mikayla Belasco (5-10, junior, forward/center) Belasco is a pretty good ball handler and a big bod in the middle of the floor. She’s aggressive both on defense and on the boards.
Anna Bol (5-10, senior, forward) Bol is has good length and see the game well. She can shoot and score a bit while also being a good defender.
Auebre Johnson (5-8, junior, guard/forward) Johnson is pretty athletic and has great basketball knowledge. Will be relied on offensively and defensively by the Trojans.
Sabi Miel (5-6, senior, guard) Miel is kind of a spark plug for Fruitport. She is quick and a good ball handler while still working on improving her outside shot.
Sadie Norwood (5-10, junior, forward/center) Norwood has a good basketball IQ and can shoot the ball well from the outside. Norwood may be the best shooter on the team but can also drive the ball.
Kylie Pate (5-7, senior, guard) Pate spent a lot of time working on her game this summer. She shoots well from the outside and wiill probably play off guard mostly.
Kylie Rudolph (5-9, senior, forward) Rudolph is probably the most athletic girl on the Trojans. Rudolph hasn’t played basketball long but will be relied upon defensively. Her shooting has improved in a short time.
KEY NEWCOMERS
Kayla Manciu (5-9, senior, forward/center)
Olive Staal (5-10, junior, forward/center)
Ash Olson (5-6, sophomore, guard)
Jorja Blackmer (5-7, sophomore, forward)
TEAM STRENGTH
The Trojans will have a lot of returning experience after losing just two seniors form the team last year.
TEAM CHALLENGES
Offensively, the Trojans don’t have a natural scorer and will have to rely on transition baskets after getting defensive stops.
CONFERENCE FAVORITE
West Catholic who won the conference last year will likely be at the top of the conference.
FIRST GAME
Tuesday at Holland.
COACH QUOTE
“We play in a tough conference and expect to be improved. We’ll be more competitive, and we’ll see if that comes with more wins. We want to be in every game. We want to give ourselves a chance each and every night.”
