The Western Michigan Christian volleyball team, ranked No. 1 in the state in Division 3, had a great night on Thursday, beating Fruitport and Whitehall at home.

The Warriors downed Fruitport 25-23 and 25-20, then played Whitehall in a rematch of last Saturday’s championship match at the GMAA city tournament.

WMC lost the first set 26-24, then rallied to win the second set 25-23 and the third set 15-10.

Kyla Wiersema led the way for WMC with 22 kills. Abby Leffring served two aces, while Maddie Wiersema had 28 digs and six blocks.

The Warriors, now 39-5, will host the Lakes 8 Conference tournament on Saturday.
