The Shelby soccer team ended it season in dramatic fashion with an overtime loss to Big Rapids Tuesday night.

The Tigers were the top seed in their Division 3 district, but fell 2-1 in overtime against the host Cardinals in the semifinal round. 

Big Rapids struck first early in the game and held a 1-0 lead at halftime. Shelby evened the score at 1-1 on a goal from Ricardo Bahena early in the second half. 

Neither team scored in the remainder of regulation, leading to overtime.

The Cardinals scored in the opening minutes of the first overtime to take a 2-1 lead and the Tigers were unable to recover. 

Shelby finishes the season 13-5-1.
