The Montague football squad cruised past Central Montcalm 41-7 on Friday in a Division 6 pre-district contest.
The Wildcats opened the scoring late in the first quarter on a seven-yard touchdown run by Dylan Everett. Montague led 7-0 after the first quarter.
Central Montcalm responded with a touchdown pass from Kaleb Crooks to Fisher Hill to tie the game 7-7.
The Wildcats quickly regained the lead with a 74-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Andrew Kooi to Everett.
Montague added another two touchdowns in the second quarter to take a 28-7 advantage at halftime. Adam Baird scored on a two-yard run, then Kooi found Tugg Nichols from 13 yards out.
The Wildcats increased their lead to 34-7 with a 37-yard touchdown run by Everett in the third quarter.
Montague closed out the scoring with a 24-yard touchdown pass from Kooi to Nichols.
Both teams failed to score during the fourth quarter.
Everett had three total touchdowns with 118 rushing yards and the 74-yard touchdown on his lone reception of the game.
Kooi threw for three touchdowns with Baird chipping in 55 rushing yards and Nichols adding 64 receiving yards.
Baird and Nichols each led the charge defensively with seven tackles each while Hayden McDonald recorded three sacks.
The Wildcats will face Reed City next weekend in a Division 6 district final game.
