The Montague football team was dominant in a 70-0 victory over Shelby on Friday night. With the win, the Wildcats guaranteed themselves at least a share of the West Michigan Conference title.
In the first quarter, Andrew Kooi found Reece Taylor for a 15-yard touchdown and Colton Blankstrom for a 40-yard touchdown.
Blankstrom had a 35-yard interception return touchdown while Dylan Everett had a 15-yard touchdown run.
Montague held a 26-0 lead after one quarter of play.
In the second quarter, Montague forced a safety before Adam Baird took a kick return 59 yards for a touchdown.

Later in the quarter, Everett scored on a 43-yard run while Kooi punched in a five-yard TD.
Baird finished the first half scoring with a 55-yard interception return touchdown to give Montague a 56-0 halftime lead.
A four-yard touchdown run by Baird was the lone score in the third quarter. Michael Moore scored on a 37-yard run in the fourth quarter.
Montague is now 5-1 overall on the season and 5-0 in West Michigan Conference play. The Wildcats will have an opportunity to win the conference outright against Whitehall in Week 8.
