Whitehall won the West Michigan Conference tournament volleyball championship after defeating North Muskegon by scores of 25-19 and 25-11 on Saturday.

The Vikings were led by Rayne Thompson with 31 kills while Charley Klint added 15. Maggie Evans chipped in with 55 assists and six aces.

Ryleigh Mott led Whitehall defensively with 25 digs, while Thompson had 22 along with four blocks. Sidney Shepherd also had four blocks.

The Vikings finished league play with a perfect 10-0 record, and they are 30-5-1 overall on the season.

North Muskegon, which defeated Hart (25-12, 23-25, 15-6) and Montague (25-12, 25-19) to advance to the championship.

The Norse was paced by Natalie Pannucci with 23 kills, while Joslynne Bogner added eight aces and Sami Baker had 31 assists.

The Norse was paced defensively by Megan Houseman with 20 digs.

North Muskegon is now 24-17-2 on the season.

Montague posts a 2-2 record at Conference Tournament

The Montague volleyball team defeated Hart (25-21, 25-16) and Ravenna (25-13, 33-35, 15-13), but lost to Shelby (17-25, 25-23, 10-15) and North Muskegon (12-25, 19-25).

Anastasia Trevino led the Wildcats with 36 kills while Peyton Johnson served up seven aces.

Montague was paced defensively by Morgan Netcott with 48 digs, while Peyton Johnson had 37 and Britta Johnson contributed with 21. Ava Pumford had seven blocks.
