The Montague volleyball team posted a 2-1 record on Wednesday in its host quad match.

The Wildcats lost to North Muskegon (17-25, 25-18, 18-25), then bounced back to beat Ludington (25-23, 25-17, 25-15) and Calvin Christian (25-17, 24-26, 25-23).

Anastasia Trevino led Montague with 32 kills while Britta Johnson added 22. Alissa Wynn and Peyton Johnson each had seven aces and Jaelyn Sundberg chipped in with 77 assists.

The Wildcats were paced defensively by Morgan Netcott with 69 digs while Wynn had 22. Trevino contributed with seven blocks.

North Muskegon goes 2-1 in quad match

The Norse defeated Ludington (25-14, 23-25, 25-23), lost to Grandville Calvin Christian (25-23, 22-25, 18-25) and knocked off host Montague (25-7, 18-25, 25-18).

Natalie Pannucci led North Muskegon with 37 kills while Josee Cooke added 15 along with four aces. Sami Baker chipped in with 63 assists.

The Norse were led defensively by Megan Houseman and Baker with 32 and 20 digs, respectively. Pannucci had six blocks.

North Muskegon is now 26-18-2 overall on the season.

Ludington wins one of its three volleyball matches

The Orioles volleyball team went 1-2 on Wednesday at the Montague quad match.

Ludington lost to North Muskegon and Montague, then finished the night with a win over Calvin Christian (25-22, 24-26, 25-20).

Maddy Vaara led the Orioles with 17 kills while Jordyn Anderson had 14 blocks and 11 digs defensively. Karli Mesyar chipped in with 21 assists.

The Orioles are now 23-25 overall on the season.
