Quarterback Mark Konecny had a big night for Mona Shores, passing for 141 yards and rushing for 77 in 49-0 win over Wyoming in the final game of the regular season on Friday night.

In the first quarter, Elijah Johnson put Mona Shores on the board with a 40-yard touchdown run, Dahmir Farnum found the end zone from six yards out, and Konecny followed up with a successful two-point conversion. The Sailors led 15-0 heading into the second quarter.

Mona Shores’ Demetri Roberson dominated the second quarter, scoring twice for the Sailors. Roberson returned an interception for 70 yards to score, and caught an 80-yard touchdown pass from Konecny, and the Sailors led 29-0 at halftime.

Konecny scored early in the second half, breaking off a 69-yard touchdown run in the first 17 seconds of play. CJ Ivy then scored on a six-yard run, putting Mona Shores ahead 43-0 after three quarters.

Hayden Terpstra closed out scoring for the Sailors with a seven-yard run in the fourth quarter.

Johnson finished with 72 yards rushing. Jeff Lenartowicz led the Mona Shores defense with seven tackles, followed by Ivy with five.

Mona Shores finished the regular season 7-2 overall, with a 6-1 record in the O-K Green conference.

The Sailors will now wait until Sunday night to see who their first opponent in the playoffs will be next week.
