Grand Haven closes its football season with a 28-6 loss to Rockford

The Grand Haven football team fell to Rockford 28-6 on Friday in an O-K Red Conference game.

Rockford jumped out to a 21-0 lead in the first quarter, scoring on a pair of one-yard rushing touchdowns and a two-yard run.

Ryan Francis recorded the lone Bucs score with a four-yard rushing touchdown. Rockford tacked on another score in the fourth quarter to bring the final to 28-6.

Owen Worthington finished the game 6-of-13 passing for 93 yards. Francis paced the ground attack, running the ball 28 times for 105 yards and a touchdown. Nate Boehnke led the team in receiving, hauling in two passes for 44 yards.

Gaven Strong led the team defensively with seven tackles, while Antwan Price finished the evening with five and both Dylan Cummings and Bode Wilson finished with four each.

The Bucs finished the regular season with a 3-6 overall record.
