The Fruitport football team fell behind early on Friday night, and were unable to dig out of the early deficit, falling to Unity Christian 55-13 in O-K Blue Conference play.

Unity Christian jumped out to a 21-0 lead after the first quarter, scoring on two rushing touchdowns and a passing touchdown. The Crusaders then added three more touchdowns in the second quarter to take a 41-0 halftime lead.

Gavin Reames opened the second half scoring with a two-yard rushing touchdown with 2:48 left in the third quarter.

Unity Christian added a touchdown before the end of the third quarter to extend the lead 48-7 heading into the fourth quarter.

After another Unity Christian score, Reames found Paschal Jolman for a 70-yard passing touchdown as time expired.

Reames finished the game 11-of-18 passing for 229 and a touchdown pass. He also rushed the ball six times for 32 yards and a score.

Jolman paced the rushing attack, running the ball 11 times for 42 yards. He also recorded two catches for 70 yards and a score.

The Trojans were led defensively by Andrew Fielstra with seven tackles.

Fruitport is now 4-5 overall on the season.
