The Fremont football team picked up its first win of the season with a 32-6 victory over Chippewa Hills on Friday night.
Fremont opened the scoring on a 40-yard rushing touchdown by Justin Dirheimer to give the Packers a 7-0 lead with 6:23 to go in the first quarter.
Fremont scored again on an 18-yard run by Dirheimer to make it 14-0 with 1:30 remaining in the first.
The lone score in the second quarter came on a three-yard rushing touchdown by Alex Gleason, giving Fremont a 20-0 halfitme lead.
Fremont scored again on a 26-yard pass from Gleason to Wei Chen to take a 26-0 lead, before Chippewa Hills got on the board later in the quarter, making the score 26-6.
Fremont had the lone score in the fourth quarter when Dirheimer broke loose for a 50-yard rushing touchdown to make it a 32-6 final.
Dirheimer finished with 231 yards and three touchdowns on 24 carries, while Connor Pettis had eight tackles to lead Fremont’s defensive effort. Owen VandenBerg added five tackles for the Packers.
Fremont moves to 1-6 overall and takes on Reed City next week.
