The Oakridge football team dominated in its Division 5 pre-district matchup against Big Rapids, winning 40-15 on Friday.
The Eagles struck first on a 23-yard touchdown pass from Matt Danicek to Corey Vanderputte to take a 6-0 lead.
Oakridge added a one-yard touchdown run by Danicek late in the first quarter to lead 12-0 after one.
Vanderputte added two second-quarter touchdowns, from 34 and 42 yards, to give Oakridge a 28-0 lead at halftime.
The Eagles opened the second half with a huge defensive play as Vanderputte had a 98-yard pick-six to increase the advantage to 34-0.
Brenden Raymond added a nine-yard touchdown run late in the third quarter to bring the score to 40-0.
Big Rapids outscored the Eagles 15-0 during the fourth quarter but failed to overcome the large deficit.
Vanderputte led Oakridge with 203 rushing yards and four total touchdowns. Raymond had a strong performance with 95 rushing yards and led the defense with six tackles.
The Eagles (8-2) will face Tri-County next weekend in a Division 5 district final contest.
