The Muskegon Big Reds took control of a close game with a 21-point second half and beat Lowell 35-7 on Saturday in a Division 3 pre-district game at Hackley Stadium.
Sophomore running back Jakob Price had a big game for Muskegon, rushing for 106 yards and a pair of fourth-quarter touchdowns to help wrap up the win.
The Big Reds will move on to the district finals next weekend, hosting Cedar Springs. The date and time of the matchup will be announced within a few days.

Muskegon jumped out to a 14-0 lead after one quarter on a 58-yard touchdown romp by Destin Piggee and a 21-yard TD throw from quarterback Myles Walton to Jeremiah Dault.
The second quarter was scoreless.
The Big Reds went up 21-0 on a one-yard touchdown plunge by Walton in the third quarter.
Price added his touchdowns in the fourth quarter on runs of 20 and 74 yards, respectively. The Red Arrows scored their only TD in the fourth on a one-yard run by Tacho Gonzales.
Lowell was hurt by turnovers – three interceptions and one lost fumble. Muskegon struggled with penalties, being flagged eight times for 70 yards while the Red Arrows had no penalties.

Piggee finished with 58 yards on the ground for Muskegon.
Dominic Sugin paced the Big Reds defense with nine tackles while Mason Hunter, Deanthony Fondren, Brian Wright, Tamareon Oakes and Meshaune Crowley all had six.
The Muskegon defense had five sacks on the day. Walton had two interceptions for Muskegon while Damari Foster had one.
Adrian Ramos-Velasquez converted all five of his extra point tries for the Big Reds.
